The Sumatran tiger is a magnificent subspecies of tiger native to the lush forests of Sumatra, Indonesia. These solitary felines primarily inhabit tropical rainforests, swamps, and grasslands. They are carnivorous and mainly prey on animals such as deer, wild boar, and various smaller mammals. Sadly, the Sumatran tiger is critically endangered, with fewer than 400 individuals left in the wild due to habitat loss and poaching.
