Nursehound is among the animals visitors can meet at UK wildlife attractions.

The nursehound, also known as the bull huss, is a type of shark found primarily in the waters around the UK and parts of northern Europe. This fascinating creature prefers rocky seabeds and coastal habitats, where it can often be spotted at depths of up to 200 meters. Nursehounds are carnivorous, feeding on a diet of fish, crustaceans, and molluscs, making them important contributors to the marine ecosystem. Interestingly, nursehounds can grow to impressive lengths of up to 1.5 meters and possess a distinctive flattened head and elongated body. While their conservation status has not been evaluated, they are generally considered to be of least concern. Families in the UK can see nursehounds at various aquariums and wildlife parks, providing an excellent opportunity to learn more about these unique sharks.
